Prysmian Powerlink – Courceulles-sur-Mer OWF – May 2023 to Present – 220kV Export Cable Pull, Termination and Testing (2 x Export Cables)
The Correll Group – Cable Installation & Power Services Division (CIPS) has been awarded a contract from Prysmian Group to provide support for the pull-in and installation of two 225 kV HVAC export cables (each about 17.5 km in length), to the offshore substation platform for the Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind farm.
The 448 MW Calvados offshore wind project is comprised of 64 GE Haliade 150-6MW series wind turbines located more than 10km from the Bessin coastline and occupies a total surface area of approximately 45km².
CIPS is responsible for:
- Pre-project meetings
- Creations of RAMS
- Post Lay Testing (continuity, insulation resistance, Time Domain Reflectometry and Optical Time Domain Reflectometry)
- On the offshore assets:
- Cable pull of 2 x export cables.
- Stripping the export cables to expose the HV cores and FO cable
- Complete the permanent hang-off
- Route the HV and FO cable into GIS and Fibre Enclosure
- Cleat the HV cores from the hang-off to the GIS
- Terminate and splice the FO cable into the cabinet
- Terminate three power cores into the GIS
- Complete post installation testing from the onshore substation to the offshore assets (IR, TDR & OTDR)
- Deliver an Inspection and Test Plan for the installed and tested system, forming part of key payment milestone.
