Asso.Subsea – Godewind 3 / DolWin Kappa OWF – July 2023 to November 2023
The Correll Group – Cable Installation & Power Services Division is delighted to announce that it has been successful in securing a contract with the offshore installation company Asso.subsea for the AC Submarine Cables pull in operations on both the Gode Wind 3 OWP Offshore Substation and the HVDC Offshore Substation DolWin Kappa as part of the AC grid connection system on behalf of the end client TenneT.
The summary of works included:
- Pre-project meetings
- Design and engineer the pulling methodology for both platforms
- Creation of RAMS
- Pre & Post Lay Testing (continuity, insulation resistance, Time Domain Reflectometry and Optical Time Domain Reflectometry, tone generation).
- On the offshore assets:

- Cable pull of 2 x export cables on 2 x OSS platforms
- Supply Scaffolding for the support of the cable installation on GDE 3 OSS
- Stripping the export cables to expose the HV cores and FO cable
- Complete the permanent hang-off
- Cleat the HV cores from the hang-off to the GIS
- Terminate and splice the FO cable into the cabinet
- Assist in the termination of the three power cores into the GIS
- Complete post installation testing from the onshore substation to the offshore assets (IR, TDR & OTDR)
- Complete tone generation testing
- Deliver an Inspection and Test Plan for the installed and tested system, forming part of key payment milestone
- Deliver accurate As built records for the OWF installation.
