Correll Group awarded export cable pull in contract by Asso.subsea Limited

The Correll Group – Cable Installation & Power Services Division is delighted to announce that it has been successful in securing a contract with the offshore installation company Asso.subsea for the AC Submarine Cables pull in operations on both the Gode Wind 3 OWP Offshore Substation and the HVDC Offshore Substation DolWin kappa as part of the AC grid connection system on behalf of the end client TenneT.

TenneT is the transmission system operator responsible for the grid connection for Gode Wind 3 (242 MW) and provides the grid connection as an HVDC line. The AC connection is required for the connection from the wind farm to the converter platform at sea. The EPIC main contract was awarded to Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co.Gode Wind 3 is located in the German North Sea, approximately 32km north-west of the island of Norderney within cluster 3 and the country’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ). The offshore wind farm is expected to be fully commissioned in 2024 and when fully operational will serve around 250,000 German households with clean, green energy.

“This contract complements previous awards from ZTT Cables, where Correll was contracted to perform platform cable routing, termination & testing’ of 155kV subsea cables associated with the AC grid connection systems, on both Kaskasi II & Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farms”.
