Correll were approached by ReVeLie to support with the cable pull in, HV and FO services associated with the mock-up in Belgium for the Akita & Noshiro OWF, which is being constructed in Japan. The purpose of the mock-up is to identify interfaces at this stage to prevent major delays offshore.

The European experience was influential and provided a great insight to the Japanese at the beginning of the OWF construction. CS were responsible for the following,

Reviewing associated cable pull and termination and testing documentation.

Following the successful delivery of the Formosa 1 (phase 2) OWF in Taiwan, CS was delighted that Jan De Nul once again chose our company to complete the subsea cable termination & testing works on the second OWF being constructed in Taiwan waters. To support this and future projects in the region, Correll Group has opened an operation in Taiwan, staffed by Branch Manager Ray Tsao and Project Coordinator Fiona Su. We shall be investing in the community in terms of training local operatives and development of a regional supply chain.

Correll Group – High Voltage Management Division was awarded a contract from SRE to support with a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and a Control Engineer to the Formosa 1 Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan.

Correll will deliver works both offshore, on the Wind Turbine Generators and onshore on the substation.

During the course of works Correll will also be carrying out a tailored HV training program that will authorise the local engineers to carry out safety of the system on their own HV networks.

Seaway Offshore Cables – CFXD Offshore Wind Farm

Seaway Offshore Cables – CFXD (Taiwan) OWF - January 2022 to Present - 62 Array and 4 Export Subsea Cables

Correll Group, Electrical Engineering Division was awarded their 5th contract associated with an offshore windfarm located in the Taiwan Strait, an endorsement which firmly establishes our reputation and position in a global market.

CFXD consists of 62 WTG’s. The summary of T & T work includes:

Pre-project meetings

Site visits

Assistance of creation of associated documentation

Project HIRA meetings

Mock-up trials

Mobilisation of PPE & tools via a 20ft container

Visa & Work Permit applications

Tower mobilisation and preparation

Route the HV and FO cable into the TP/WTGS

Cleat the HV cores from the hang-off to the GIS

Terminate and splice the FO cable into the cabinet

Terminate power cores (66kV) into the GIS

Complete post installation testing from the onshore substation to the offshore asset (DAC, IR, TDR & OTDR)

Deliver an Inspection and Test Plan of the installed and tested system, forming part of key payment milestone.

Seaway Offshore Cables – Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm

Seaway Offshore Cables – Yunlin (Taiwan) OWF - February 2020 to Present - 81 Array and 12 Export Subsea Cables

Correll Group, Electrical Engineering Division was awarded a third contract associated with an offshore windfarm located in the Taiwan Strait, an endorsement which firmly establishes our reputation and position in a global market. Yunlin consists of 80 WTG’s and is the first 66kV OWF to be constructed in the region. CEE was fully involved in the Type-Testing & Pre-Qualification processes conducted at the array and export cable manufacturers facilities in Japan and South Korea respectively.
